Joe And Chris Townsend Honored As “Educators Of The Year” by LaMuneca Cattle Company

 Joe Townsend, Ph.D.Chris Townsend, Ph.D.College Station--Joe Townsend, Ph.D., special assistant to the provost, and Chris Townsend,Ph.D.,  a professor in the Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communications, have been honored by the LaMuneca Cattle Company as the "2009 Educators of the Year.”

The award was presented at the 22nd annual LaMuneca Field Day and Customer Appreciation Fiesta held at the LaMuneca Ranch, Linn, Texas. 

A special citation was included in the presentation to “Dr. Joe” and “Dr. Chris,” as they are known to their students and former students.  The citation read, "A big hearty THANKS for all that you do for our youth.  You are both great leaders that have made a difference in the lives of many students.  We appreciate your lifetime dedication to education."  

The LaMuneca Ranch and Cattle Company is family owned by Carlos X. and Sister Guerra. It is located approximately 15 miles north of Edinburg.
