Distinguished Texan in Agriculture Award and Rosenthal Lecture Series
Join us Tuesday, October 23, 2012, for the Distinguished Texan in Agriculture Award and special presentation of “A Conversation with Roz Rosenthal.”
October 23, 2012
1:30 – 2:30 p.m.
The AgriLife Center
Rosalyn “Roz” Rosenthal, wife of distinguished alumnus and Rosenthal Meat Science and Technology Center namesake, E. M. “Manny” Rosenthal, has long been a supporter of the college. She and Manny have made a profound impact on Texas A&M, from the employment and mentoring of our former students, to hosting tours and lecturing our students on the business of Standard Meat, to endowing the first chair in meat science in the U.S.
On October 23, we will have the opportunity to sit down with Roz for a Q&A about her experience in the meat science industry. In addition, the Distinguished Texan in Agriculture Award will be presented to E.M. Manny Rosenthal (posthumously), recognizing his outstanding leadership and achievements on behalf of the Texas agricultural industry, the state and beyond. The award will be presented to Roz and her son, Billy, who represents the third generation of Rosenthals in the meat business.
E.M. Manny Rosenthal Lecture Series
This lecture series is named in honor of E.M. “Manny” Rosenthal, class of 1942, Distinguished Alumnus of Texas A&M University and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, and Chairman Emeritus of Standard Meat Company. Manny was a lifelong supporter of education at all levels. The Rosenthal Lecture Series is an outstanding way to provide a forum for the exchange of information and to honor a person who made so many contributions in all facets of his life.
Presented by Texas A&M AgriLife and the Rosenthal Lecture Series.
