Jeff Savell appointed to Council of Agricultural Science and Technology

COLLEGE STATION – A professor in Texas A&M University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences has been appointed to the Council of Agricultural Science and Technology (CAST).
Dr. Jeff Savell, professor of meat science in the Department of Animal Science, will serve a three-year term as the American Meat Science Association’s representative on the board. He was appointed by the association’s Executive Committee.
At Texas A&M, Savell holds the E. M. "Manny" Rosenthal Chair in Animal Science. He has appointments on the Faculty of Animal Sciences, Food Science and Technology and the Graduate Faculty of Nutrition. In addition, he teaches and conducts research through an appointment with Texas AgriLife Research.
CAST is a nonprofit organization of scientists from many disciplines. Known for task force reports and commentary or issue papers, the organization deals with concerns in animal science, food science, agricultural technology, plant and soil sciences, and plant protection science.
