Dean’s Office FAQ

Have a question or need someone to talk to? The Office of the Dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences is here to help. Here are the top ten questions we get from students. Check the list and then contact us at 979-845-3712 if you have additional questions.

1. Do I need an appointment to see the Dean?
An appointment is not required, but be aware that others may have made one. Should you be asked to wait, you will be seen at the first available opening.

2. Where is the Academic Dean’s Office?
The Academic Dean’s Office is located in 109 Kleberg Center on the west campus directly in front of the Allbritton Bell Tower on the opposite side of Wellborn Road.

3. Where do I park when I come to see the Dean?
If you do not have a parking tag for one of the area lots, you can park in the west campus parking garage for a fee. There is also a very limited number of 30 minute parking spaces in the small circle drive in front of Kleberg toward Wellborn Road. We do not validate parking. Transportation Services web site 

4. Which bus will take me to the Main campus?
Several bus routes go from the West campus to the main campus. You can catch a bus to the main campus directly in front of the South entrance to the Kleberg Center at the bus stop area. Bus routes.

5. Where can I get something to eat or drink?
There are vending machines in the NE corner of the Kleberg Center. The Ag Café is located in the Biochemistry/Biophysics Building. Exit Kleberg on the north side toward the Heep Building, turn left and the Bio/Bio building will be behind the Heep Building on your right.

6. Who is my advisor?
Your advisor depends on your major, so we will ask you a couple of questions to help direct you to the appropriate person. We do maintain a list of advisors and their contact information for each of our 14 departments that you can pick up from the Academic Dean’s Office.

7. Are you hiring?
We do periodically hire student workers; however, in order to be hired, you must work with Student Financial Aid to seek part-time employment on campus. Jobs for Aggies.

8. Who do I talk to about a problem with a professor?
If, after visiting with your professor, you feel you need additional advice, you should begin with your advisor. They will help you follow protocol to determine the next appropriate person you should contact regarding your problem.

9. Who do I talk to about a problem with my advisor?
If, after visiting with your advisor, you feel you need additional advice, you should contact your department head’s office to ask for assistance. The staff in each office will be able to direct you to the appropriate individual for advice.

10. Who do I talk to about problems with my roommate?
Begin with information located on the roommate website and contact them for further information if needed.
