Garner Mickle is a recent graduate of Texas A&M University and is a first-generation Aggie from Corsicana, Texas. In December of 2025, he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics with a concentration in Rural Entrepreneurship. During high school, Garner was involved in FFA and 4-H, where he developed a strong connection to agriculture and the importance of rural production.
While at Texas A&M, he was heavily involved in several student organizations, including Aggie Vanguard, where he served as a Public Relations Officer, and the Department of Agricultural Economics Aggie REPs, where he led a subset organization, A.C.E., designed to integrate freshmen into the Department. As a teaching assistant for several classes under the Rister ’74 Agribusiness Rural Entrepreneurship Program, he realized the importance of small business, rural economies, and the importance of policy. During a recent honors trip to Washington, D.C., provided by the Agricultural and Food Policy Center of Texas A&M, his passion shifted toward policy creation and producer representation on the federal level.
During his free time, he enjoys spending time outdoors, with friends and family, and exploring new music. This spring, Garner is interning with the Office of Senator Ted Cruz, intending to apply his skills and expand his knowledge of agricultural policy and the federal policy-making process.
