National Council of Farmer Cooperatives

Haley Bryand is a junior at Texas A&M University pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science with a minor in Legal Foundations. Originally from Overton, Texas, Haley grew up actively involved in her family’s cow-calf operation, where she developed a deep appreciation for the agricultural industry and the challenges faced by producers. Her background in showing Simbrah cattle, along with her involvement in FFA leadership and public speaking events, sparked her passion for advocating for agriculture at both the state and national levels.
At Texas A&M, Haley is actively involved in the Department of Animal Science as a Student Ambassador and serves on the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Student Council. She is also a member of the Saddle and Sirloin Club and the Meat Science and Technology Association and previously competed on the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Meats Judging Team.
Haley has gained professional experience through internships in both the legal and agricultural policy fields. She has worked with a law firm supporting a variety of client matters and with the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association in government relations, where she engaged with policy issues directly impacting cattle producers. These experiences have reinforced her goal of pursuing a career at the intersection of agriculture, law, and policy.
This summer, Haley is interning with the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives, where she is gaining hands-on experience in federal agricultural policy and working on issues that impact cooperatives and producers across the country. Following graduation, Haley plans to attend law school and pursue a career in agricultural policy, where she hopes to advocate for producers and rural communities while supporting the long-term sustainability of the beef industry.
