U.S. House Committee on Agriculture

Harper Parson is a senior from Devine, Texas. He is majoring in animal science with a minor in agricultural economics and will graduate in May 2027. Growing up in a rural community where he bred and raised show pigs with his family allowed his passion for agriculture to flourish. Due to his tenure as a 2024-2026 Texas Pork Junior Ambassador, he was given the opportunity to lobby on behalf of the national pork industry, sparking a passion for not only livestock production but also protecting its interests at the federal level.
At Texas A&M, Harper has been involved in numerous organizations. His proudest achievement is having competed on the 2025 National Champion Intercollegiate Meat Judging Team, as well as winning the 2025 Australian Intercollegiate Meat Judging Conference. He has also competed on the 2026 Meat Animal Evaluation Team and served as the Chairman of the Swine Committee, and is now Vice President of the Animal Science Ambassadors.
This summer, Harper is interning with the House Committee on Agriculture. There, he works to better understand how legislation and policy shape everyday life.
