Office of Congressman Brian Babin

Jenna Mendez is a rising senior at Texas A&M University pursuing a degree in agricultural leadership and development with a minor in agricultural communications and journalism. Originally from El Paso, Texas, she spent a large portion of her life in New Mexico, where her involvement in 4-H sparked her passion for agriculture. Through her service on the New Mexico State 4-H Leadership Team, Jenna developed a deep-seated appreciation for rural America. She developed a strong interest in pursuing a career in agricultural policy curation.
As a student at Texas A&M, Jenna has been actively involved in student organizations within the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and across campus. She is an active member of Sigma Alpha, an agricultural sorority, and an employee in the Department of Residence Life, where she serves as a tour guide. She is also a member of the University Honors Program, where she is working on completing a teaching capstone.
This summer, Jenna is interning with the Office of Congressman Brian Babin. Through this experience, she hopes to gain hands-on experience with the legislative process and the necessary skills to advocate on behalf of farmers and ranchers across the nation. Jenna is passionate about contributing to sustainable agriculture initiatives that support the future of agriculture.
