Texas A&M University System, Office of Federal Relations

Savay Sexton is a senior at Texas A&M University, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Leadership and Development and double-minoring in Tourism Management and International Agricultural Development. Savay grew up raising cattle in Cost, Texas, competing in 4-H, and advocating for the livestock industry, and this involvement in agriculture made her witness how policy directly affected agriculturists.
Savay serves as an officer for Collegiate Farm Bureau, helping connect students with agriculture, has competed on the Wool Judging Team, and has held leadership positions in other student organizations. Savay loves to encourage students by serving as a teaching assistant for Texas Barbeque, for an introductory leadership class, and as a Peer Mentor for a First Year Experience class. Through her passion for hospitality, she works for AgriLife Events and serves in her church and through an international student outreach. Savay has engaged in undergraduate research and presented at the International Leadership Association Conference in Prague, Czech Republic. Savay has given back to the entities that have developed her by interning at the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers’ Association Convention, the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association Cattle Con, the State Fair of Texas, and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
Savay has been part of four impactful A&M study abroad experiences to Guatemala, France, the United Kingdom, and Mexico, which have shaped her career goal of working in international agritourism, combining her passion for agriculture, trade, international relations, and face-to-face relationships with her deep appreciation for public policy amongst a highly globalized world.
This summer, Savay is interning for the Texas A&M University System, Office of Federal Relations, and is happy to assist with projects that support universities and state agencies across Texas that impact many.
