Holly Tynan

Holly Tynan recently graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Conservation Biology with a minor in Geographic Information Systems Technology. Although she grew up in Houston, Texas, going to her family’s ranch in Granbury, Texas, sparked her love for the environment and its conservation very early. Her experiences as an agricultural worker, conservation intern, and member of various outdoor organizations and communities have strengthened her passion for conservation and environmental policy.
During her time at Texas A&M, Holly served as a member of Aggie Outdoors, an organization dedicated to getting college students into outdoor recreational spaces at a low cost. She also participated in the Texas A&M Climbing Team and the Women’s Ultimate Frisbee Team, utilizing public outdoor spaces weekly to stay active and foster welcoming environments with other students. She also participated in an internship with the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center, where she helped the conservation team tend to a 150-acre public nature reserve in the heart of the city.
Through her internship with the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives, Holly is gaining a deeper understanding of the environmental policy process and all the research that goes into making effective legislation. With this knowledge, she hopes to advocate for the environment and promote effective legislation for its preservation.
