Katherine Harris
Conservative Political Action Conference
Katherine Harris is originally from Katy, Texas, and is a recent graduate of Texas A&M University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics. With a background in the grocery industry, she developed an early appreciation for the role agriculture and food systems play in everyday life.
Katherine discovered her passion for public policy and advocacy through her student leadership roles in the Student Government Association at a previous institution. These experiences sparked her interest in how policy decisions affect communities, industries, and economic opportunities. During her time at Texas A&M, she further explored these interests through coursework focused on agricultural economics and policy, as well as attending the International Fresh Produce Association Food Show, where she learned how policy can directly impact the produce market. In addition, working for her family’s grocery distribution business and completing an internship with Dairy Farmers of America have strengthened her interest and understanding of agricultural policy, nutrition programs, food systems, and the broader intersection of agriculture and economic decision-making.
This fall, Katherine is excited to be interning with the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C., gaining firsthand experience in the policymaking process and further exploring her interests in agricultural policy, nutrition programs, and economic development. She is contributing to meaningful work that shapes agriculture and food policy while continuing to grow personally and professionally.
