Mark Choi
Office of Congressman John Carter
Mark Choi is a rising junior at Texas A&M University majoring in Agricultural Economics with an emphasis on Finance and Real Estate and minoring in AI in Business. Raised in Houston, Texas, Mark grew up at the epicenter of the energy industry. This environment sparked his fascination with the oil and gas sector, particularly how energy markets directly influence transportation and freight costs for global commodities and goods. Furthermore, witnessing contemporary supply chain vulnerabilities, such as the trade disruptions and security bottlenecks in the Strait of Hormuz, has fueled his ambition to propose innovative policy solutions that strengthen international trade agreements, secure economic prosperity for American citizens, and advocate for border security.
Mark discovered his passion for public service through his extensive leadership on campus. He serves on the Interfraternity Council (IFC) as both a L.E.A.D. member and a Judicial Board member and is an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). Through these organizations, he has spearheaded campus unity events and collaborated with alumni to raise significant funds for various philanthropies. These leadership experiences have deepened his interest in energy sector logistics and the policy-making frameworks required to manage fossil fuel resources effectively.
This fall, Mark is interning with the Office of Congressman John Carter. Through this opportunity, he is gaining a comprehensive understanding of the legislative process and developing the strategic tools necessary to support businesses nationwide. Ultimately, Mark is passionate about designing more efficient methods for goods transportation and advocating for forward-thinking policies that balance the future supply and demand of energy commodities.
In his free time, Mark enjoys cooking, weightlifting, and playing golf with his friends.
