Biography
Conley Harris ’29 plans to become involved in organizations such as COALS FX, Aggie Reps and Aggie Southern Darlings, where she can continue to build leadership skills and connections within the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
Conley’s passion for agriculture began in third grade when she joined 4-H, and she has been actively involved ever since. She has shown steers, heifers, chickens, turkeys and lambs across Texas and held multiple leadership positions as a Texas 4-H Equine Ambassador, Texas 4-H Poultry Ambassador, Healthy Texas Youth Ambassador and Wilson County Livestock, Poultry and Healthy Youth Ambassador. Through these experiences, she gained public speaking skills and a strong foundation in agricultural advocacy. In addition, Conley competed in the Texas High School Rodeo Association and Texas Youth Rodeo Association, where she participated in goat tying, breakaway roping and barrel racing.
Outside of livestock and rodeo, Conley is passionate about baking, a love that began when she baked with her grandmother for the Wilson County Baked Food Show. She has since grown this interest into a small business, selling cakes, cookies and treats for birthdays, graduations and community events. She hopes to one day open a bakery or operate a bakery trailer at local markets, using farm-fresh ingredients to connect her entrepreneurial goals with agricultural advocacy.
Conley also has a strong interest in healthcare. During her senior year of high school, she participated in a health practicum where she shadowed at a hospital and gained hands-on experience in the medical field. This sparked her interest in pursuing a career as a NICU nurse, where she hopes to make a meaningful impact on families during their most critical moments.
In her free time, Conley enjoys playing golf and tennis, traveling, baking new recipes and spending time with her family. She is grateful for the Dean’s Excellence Scholarship program, which allows her to further her education, grow as a leader and pursue her passions both inside and outside the classroom.
