Biography
Molly Lessing ’29 grew up in a small, rural community where she spent 10 years showing cattle and participating in 4-H and FFA. Her showing experience inspired her to serve as a Medina County livestock ambassador and help other students with their animal projects. Along with raising and showing cattle, she served in many leadership roles, including president of her 4-H county council.
Molly plans to become a holistic nutritionist. Her interest in healthy living has prompted her to pursue a career where she can encourage the physical, mental and emotional well-being of patients through healthy eating habits and lifestyle choices. On campus, Molly is interested in joining the Nutrition and Dietetics Association and the Aggie Research program.
Passionate about her faith, Molly was an altar server for 10 years, taught the eighth-grade religion class her senior year and dedicated over 500 hours to St. John’s Teen ACTS retreat team preparing for and hosting their annual retreats. Her senior year, she accepted the nomination and served as the retreat co-director. Molly is continuing her faith journey at St. Mary’s Catholic church, planning to become an active member of groups such as the St. Mary’s Youth Retreat Team.
In her free time, Molly enjoys playing the guitar, listening to podcasts and spending time with her family. Just as she is appreciative toward her family for all their support over the years, she is also very thankful to the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and its generous supporters for having awarded her the Dean’s Excellence Scholarship.
