Biography
Kayla Ricciardella ’29 was born in Hong Kong, where she lived for the first three years of her life. Her family then moved to Austin, Texas; Canberra, Australia; Washington, D.C. and finally, Dallas, Texas as her father’s career took the family around the world. These experiences have inspired her to appreciate food, explore how it is made and learn about the unique processes different cultures use in creating their cuisine.
Kayla aspires to become either a fermentation scientist or food developer. Outside of academics, she enjoys ceramics, crocheting, traveling and spending time with her French bulldog. She is deeply grateful for the support of the Dean’s Excellence Scholarship program, which allows her to pursue her academic and professional goals.
