Biography
Sydney Robinson ’29 grew up helping with her parents’ small, lake-front lodge alongside her two siblings, all while being homeschooled until sixth grade. It was never a question as to which college Sydney would choose to attend; she was born to be an Aggie, with her mother attending Texas A&M in the 90s, and her brother more recently donning the maroon in 2020.
In high school, Sydney was heavily involved in HOSA, Health Occupations Students of America, holding the title of vice president of the organization her senior year. In this role, she dedicated much of her time to running and participating in various blood drives, taking vital signs for high school athletic physicals, teaching first aid and basic life support at her local middle school and planning and volunteering in a multitude of various HOSA-related events. She graduated high school with her certification as a medical assistant , as well as her CPR and BLS certifications.
Sydney is very passionate about the medical field. In total, she has volunteered over 500 hours for the HOSA program. She has helped in spreading crucial knowledge involving medical-related information throughout her community, such as heart health and the importance of donating blood when you are able. Sydney hopes to one day become a surgical nurse.
On campus, Sydney hopes to become a member of the freshman leadership organizations Freshmen Aggies in Medicine and Aggie Sisters for Christ. She is involved in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Freshman Experience, as well as various church activities. Sydney is eternally grateful for the Dean’s Excellence Scholarship Program and everything it has already helped her accomplish. College is financially demanding, and without the support provided by this program, Sydney would not have the privilege of devoting as much time to her studies. In her free time, Sydney enjoys spending time with her friends and family, playing the piano, being active and cheering on the Aggies!
