Biography
Naomi Sell ’29 grew up surrounded by agriculture on the land her family has been farming for six generations. This exposed her to many of the hardships and joys of the farming and ranching lifestyles. She also has experience raising Bonsmara cattle, a breed native to South Africa that her family brought to Texas and has been cultivating for the past 20 years. Recently, Naomi has become interested in the field of agricultural lobbying. Naomi plans to utilize the knowledge she will gain in her agricultural communications and leadership courses to pursue a career in agricultural policy in Washington, D.C.
Naomi is a member of the Texas A&M Delta Delta Delta sorority, an active participant in her church and a consistent attendee of an on-campus student ministry. Naomi also plans to join multiple freshman leadership organizations and wants to explore similar opportunities within the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Outside of school organizations, Naomi enjoys traveling and exploring other cultures, creating and teaching art, spending time with friends and family and attending church.
Naomi has a deep appreciation for the Dean’s Excellence Scholarship program, which is helping ease the financial burden of college on her family, as they currently have three students attending Texas A&M. Receiving this scholarship and being able pursue one of her passions is truly a blessing to her.
