Biography
Joven Tapiador ’29 is a first-generation Aggie who hopes to participate in research and join various clubs across campus. Joven has several hobbies, including volunteering, reading and working with children.
His love of working with children came from spending his summer helping at a childcare center. Using this passion, he hopes to join the medical pediatric field to serve various communities. During his high school years, he was an officer of a Filipino culture outreach club and worked with local leaders to foster communication between San Antonio and her sister-city Baguio. He also volunteered at the Texas Center for Infectious Disease, teaching English to international patients undergoing treatment.
Joven is incredibly thankful for the Dean’s Excellence Scholarship program because it not only alleviates financial pressures but also grants him an opportunity to become a leader while receiving support from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
