Biography
Jordan VanWinkle ’29 is a third-generation Aggie in the Texas A&M College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, and both her Aggie pride and passion for agriculture run deep. Jordan has been involved with agriculture, specifically a small-scale stocker operation, her entire life. Recently, she discovered a growing interest in plant science. During a year-long internship with the Hopkins County Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Services Office, Jordan led the development of a greenhouse featuring aquaponic and hydroponic systems to be used by incarcerated females in the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office.
Jordan plans to attend law school to strengthen her advocacy skills. Ultimately, she hopes to become a lobbyist for an agricultural advocacy organization. Jordan is also passionate about her faith, supporting live music and connecting with others, especially over chai lattes at local coffee shops.
Jordan is deeply grateful for the Dean’s Excellence Scholarship program and the financial relief it has provided her and her family.
