Biography
Makenzie Whitehead ’29 developed a passion for agriculture, leadership and service through her involvement in FFA and community organizations.
Makenzie served as the Area V FFA First Vice President this past year and is deeply committed to combining service with advocacy. Makenzie is a National FFA and Houston Rodeo Scholarship recipient and was the state champion for two speaking events, earning top honors in both Plant Science and Creed Speaking. Throughout her FFA career, she was a ten-time state qualifier across multiple contests.
Deeply committed to service, Makenzie has completed more than 400 hours of volunteer work. She directed the “Barn Buddies” special needs event, facilitated Keller ISD’s “Big Event” and regularly volunteered with Northwood Church, Keller Parks and Recreation, the Humane Society of North Texas and the Keller Public Library. She is also an active member of Circle of Friends, where she served as treasurer and assistant board member, helping create inclusive opportunities for students with special needs.
On campus, Makenzie plans to engage in leadership opportunities within the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, FFA alumni connections and service-based organizations. In addition, Makenzie hopes to continue her philanthropic efforts and leadership opportunities in her sorority Kappa Alpha Theta. Her long-term goal is to pursue a career in agricultural policy and business, continuing to serve as a voice for the agricultural industry while creating meaningful community impact.
