Student Success Programs

AGLS ASCEND

The AGLS Advanced Student Cohort for Empowerment, Networking, and Development (ASCEND) is an application-based community designed to provide undergraduate students in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences with intensive professional development. This is not your standard student organization! AGLS ASCEND is a college-supported program offering lectures, training, workshops, and group activities focused on skills such as Time Management, Public Speaking, Professionalism, Networking, Leadership, and more!

Regents’ Scholars in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences

Academic Success Program

Regents’ Scholarship recipients are required to participate in an Academic Success Program, which in the College of Agriculture and Sciences (AGLS) involves completing all of the following within their first two semesters at A&M:

Fall semester

  • Attend the mandatory community-building event on October 1st hosted by the College. The RSVP form is available HERE.
  • Participate in ONE elective student success program among options offered by the College. Programs and sign-ups are available HERE.
  • Attend a minimum of ONE check-in event with the College’s Student Success Team. Sign-ups are available HERE.

Spring semester

  • Enroll in a Regents’ Scholars-specific section of AGLS 125.
  • Attend the mandatory community-building and networking dinner with College leadership, Wednesday, March 4, 2026, 5:30 – 7:30 pm, Rec Center 2229A. Please RSVP HERE by February 16, 2026.

General Regents’ Scholarship Information

Regents’ Scholarship recipients must also meet all University requirements established by Scholarships & Financial Aid, as well as the Routh First-Generation Center in the Office for Student Success.

Beyond the First Year: High-Impact Learning Experiences

Regents’ Scholars are required to complete a high-impact learning experience according to the policies established by the Routh First-Gen Center. In addition to opportunities available around the University, below are several experiences available in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
