Students majoring in Agricultural Science learn about educational technologies, instructional design and program planning in agricultural science. This major is a professional program and part of the Educator Preparation Program at Texas A&M University, which prepares students to be certified as a secondary (6-12) Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources teacher in Texas.
Our teacher education program in agricultural sciences prepares high-quality students for entering middle and high school programs as credentialed agricultural science teachers. In the Agricultural Workforce and Development Building, a new state-of-the-art building on the RELLIS Campus, our students learn their trade craft of teaching methods in floral design and agricultural mechanics laboratories, and they can earn additional certificates in CPR, pesticide application and shooting sports.
