Biography
Mackenzie Cronin ’27 had a humble upbringing, so much of her experience and eagerness to work in the agricultural industry comes from raising animals with friends. A large part of her life is dedicated to the Corps of Cadets, and a selective team called Ranger Challenge, which competes in an international competition at West Point each spring. After college, she will serve at least four years in the military for her contract with the U.S. Army. She aspires to retire from the military after a twenty-year-long career. She is particularly interested in poultry science, and after military service, she hopes to work in the poultry production industry.
Mackenzie says she is grateful for the Dean’s Excellence Scholarship program because she would likely not be at Texas A&M without it. She is passionate about anything she puts time into, but she is particularly zealous about anything involving family and friends, military skills and tactics, and especially the ins and outs of the agricultural industry. She and her twin own a twenty-pound and growing Sulcata tortoise named Shelby. In her free time, in addition to volunteering at the Aggieland Humane Society, she enjoys running and spending time with her buddies on campus.
