Biography
Avery Fohn ’27 was immensely involved in Texas 4-H and Texas FFA growing up, holding positions such as Texas Youth Livestock Ambassador on the Texas 4-H State Council and vice president of Area X FFA. Avery credits her dedication to agriculture to her high school experiences and familial ranching background.
On campus, Avery is involved in the Texas A&M University freshman leadership organization Fish Aides, Saddle and Sirloin Club, the David Gilbert Leadership Conference, and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Freshman Experience, COALS FX. She also serves on the Texas A&M Student Senate, contributing to both the Operations Committee and Rules and Regulations Committee. Avery aims to maintain an active role in the Student Government Association throughout her college journey. She is also a member of John 15 at St. Mary’s Catholic Center.
Avery interned for the State Fair of Texas Breeding Gilt Show in her first semester at Texas A&M, dedicated her winter break to a service trip with Fish Aides to Louisiana, and is gearing up for an internship at the San Antonio Barrow Show in her second semester. In Louisiana, she immersed herself in a new culture while serving the community of New Orleans at a children’s home and Boys and Girls Club.
Avery expresses deep gratitude towards the Dean’s Excellence Scholarship program for the countless opportunities it has afforded her. With a passion for aiding others and a desire to be a reliable resource for fellow Aggies, she plans to pursue a career in agricultural policy. In her free time, Avery enjoys discovering new recipes and cherishing moments with her friends.
