Penelope Medellin '27

Biography

From a young age, Penelope Medellin ’27 has had a passion for food and science. Her passion for food only got brighter when she joined her high school’s barbeque team. Being able to make a new dish, especially barbeque, while working with her friends brought her a lot of joy. In the future, she hopes to work for the U.S. Department of Agriculture to help the public better understand the importance of food safety and ensure that the food being offered meets the public’s needs. Penelope says that being part of the Dean’s Excellence Scholars has given her the opportunity to pursue her dreams and push herself academically. In her free time, she enjoys going to the gym with her friends, cooking, baking, and reading.
