Biography
Jason Jaime Ybarra ’27 got his passion for conservation and agriculture from working with his dad in the fields since he was a child. Jason plans to use his degree to pursue a career with a federal agency such as the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service or Texas Parks and Wildlife. He is also interested in ranch and farm management. Jason is involved with the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Freshman Experience, COALS FX, and plans to join a professional organization in the near future. Jason says that the Dean’s Excellence Scholar Program has helped him in many ways, including providing a wide variety of resources for him to assimilate into college life as well as access to opportunities he may not have experienced otherwise. In his free time, Jason loves to fish, go off-roading, and do anything outdoors.
